  • Exhibit: What Would JOAN Do?

    What Would JOAN Do? is the visual tale of Joan, an early 1960's housewife who overcomes her fears and finds the courage to fight back and eventually leave her abusive husband Dick. McAfee portrays Joan's struggles using images reminiscent of the advertising of that period and satirical humor.
  • Cultivating Growth Community Art Show

    In its third consecutive year, the community exhibition Cultivating Growth is serving up a fresh picked bunch of artwork. Juried by Columbus artist Cody Miller, this show reflects the phenomenon of growth as observed by Columbus artists.
  • Hot Times Community Music & Arts Festival

    The Hot Times Music & Arts Festival is an independent, yearly, all volunteer, community arts and music festival, held in a large, grassy area with mature hardwood trees. The three-day event showcases local and nationally known professional musicians, dancers, poets, visual and performance artists.

    Arnold Newman's unparalleled ability to capture the personality of his subjects has made him one of the great masters of portrait photography. With images ranging from Pablo Picasso, Marcel Duchamp and Man Ray to Langston Hughes, Martha Graham and John F. Kennedy, this collection brings to light the innovative minds and personalities that gave rise to the ideas and concepts that have shaped our world.
  • PBJ & Jazz at Topiary Park - New Basics Brass Band

    The Jazz Arts Group of Columbus (JAG) is pleased to return to the Topiary Park downtown for its second season of outdoor PBJ & Jazz concerts. PBJ & Jazz at the Topiary Park: Jazz for Kids and Families is a collaborative effort between JAG, Friends of the Topiary Park, Friends of the Library, and the Columbus Museum of Art. PBJ & Jazz concerts are 1-hour long interactive concerts designed to introduce jazz and American music to young children and their families. Featuring some of Columbus' finest musicians and ensembles, PBJ & Jazz concerts are hosted by former Columbus Music Hall owner and retired music educator Rebecca Ogden and are a great introduction to live music for the youngest audience member. PBJ & Jazz at the Topiary Park concerts are free and follow family storytime at 11:00 AM at the Main Library. Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic and a blanket. The noon concert will conclude with a hands-on art activity, from 1-2 p.m. presented by the Columbus Museum of Art.

  • Columbus Children's Theatre: Click, Clack Moo: Cows That Type
    September 16 - October 3, 2010 / Park Street Theatre
    All day long I hear click, clack, moo. Click, clack, moo. Clickety, clack, moo. At first I couldn't believe my ears. Cows that type? Impossible! Typing cows and a labor-disputing duck join forces to stand up to Farmer Brown in this Broadway-style barnyard blockbuster. Based on the comical, witty, and sometimes wry picture book, Click, Clack, Moo is fun, fun, fun! Great music, hilarious dialogue and dancing farm animals will have the entire family laughing along with these literate cows organizing to protect their rights.
